Yellow cab
New York City's yellow cabs became iconic after a 1967 city ordinance required all medallion taxis to be painted yellow for visibility. At their peak in the 1930s, over 21,000 yellow cabs roamed Manhattan streets. The classic Crown Victoria was the dominant taxi model from 1992 until its retirement in 2011.
