The current Next Gen car debuted in 2022 with stricter spec rules: every team uses the same chassis, transaxle, and underbody aero, so competition shifts to driver and setup. Top speeds reach about 200 mph at superspeedways like Daytona and Talladega. There are no driver-side door handles — drivers climb in and out through the window.
