The AH-64 Apache is the primary attack helicopter of the US Army since 1986. It carries Hellfire missiles, a 30mm chain gun under the nose, and Hydra rocket pods on its stub wings. The tandem cockpit seats the gunner in front and pilot behind, both with armored seats rated to survive vertical impacts at 12.8 m/s — double the standard for conventional helicopters.
