World Cup trophy

The World Cup trophy was designed by Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga in 1974. It stands 36.8 cm tall and weighs 6.175 kg of solid 18-karat gold. Two human figures hold up the Earth, representing the moment of victory. The original Jules Rimet Trophy was permanently given to Brazil after their third title in 1970 and was stolen from a display case in Rio de Janeiro in 1983 — never recovered.
