Liberty Bell
The Liberty Bell was cast in London in 1752 and shipped to Philadelphia for the Pennsylvania State House, now called Independence Hall. It cracked during testing and was recast twice by local metalworkers John Pass and John Stow. The bell weighs about 940 kilograms and is made mostly of copper and tin. Its famous crack appeared sometime in the early 19th century and grew until the bell was retired from ringing in 1846. The inscription around the top reads "Proclaim LIBERTY Throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants Thereof." Coloring page of the Liberty Bell with its iconic crack.
