Halloween mummy

Preparing an ancient Egyptian mummy took about seventy days. The body was packed in natron, a natural salt that draws out moisture, and the organs were removed and stored separately in canopic jars. Only then came the wrapping, which could use hundreds of square metres of linen on a single body.
