Princess and castle coloring page
Real medieval castles were defensive military structures: thick stone walls, narrow arrow slits, and steep approaches built to slow down attackers. The fairytale castle with slim conical towers and pointed banners belongs to the 19th-century Romantic period — Bavaria's Neuschwanstein, begun by King Ludwig II in 1869 and still unfinished when he died in 1886, set the visual template that storybooks and movies have used ever since.
